Une chaleur sèche et brûlante le jour, la fraîcheur retrouvée de la nuit et les instants magiques de l'aube et du crépuscule, si courts, composent cette création. La vie se découvre parfois simplement dans l'éclat d'un chant ou le cri d'un animal, dans le son du vent ou d'un simple déplacement. Alors ce paysage qui semble si figé et minéral prend vie à qui sait l'écouter.
The dry, scorching heat of the day, the freshness of the night and the magical, brief moments of dawn and dusk make up this creation. Life is sometimes discovered simply in the burst of a song or the cry of an animal, in the sound of the wind or a simple movement. This landscape, which seems so frozen and mineral, comes alive for those who know how to listen.

Durant trois semaines j'ai parcouru le désert mauritanien à l'écoute de ses ambiances et de ses sons souvent discrets. C'était en avril 1999, pourtant encore aujourd'hui je ressent en écoutant les ambiances de cette création, la chaleur mordante du soleil, la soif permanente des premiers jours, les nuits étoilées et étincelantes, les rencontres furtives des animaux sauvages, la finesse du sable du désert et la patine noire des roches.
Je vous propose ainsi, de découvrir ce désert devenu inaccessible où je rêve pourtant de retourner écouter la voix des djinns. Durée 64'46".
For three weeks I travelled through the Mauritanian desert listening to its ambiences and its often discreet sounds. It was in April 1999, yet even today I still feel the biting heat of the sun, the permanent thirst of the first days, the starry and sparkling nights, the furtive encounters with wild animals, the fineness of the desert sand and the black patina of the rocks, while listening to the ambiences of this creation.
I thus propose to you to discover this desert which has become inaccessible and where I dream of returning to listen to the voice of the djinns. Duration 64'46".
